Suffolk Primary Care – joining together to deliver high quality healthcare
GP Working Days
The practice premises are open between 8.00am and 8.00pm Monday and Tuesday and between 8.00am and 6.30pm Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. A doctor is available at some time during every day.
8.00am - 8.30am Urgent calls 8.30 am - 4.00pm GP & Nurse Practitioner Calls after 4pm are for urgent calls to the Duty Doctor. Test results are available after 2pm. This allows time for incoming healthcare documents to be processed and made available on your medical record.
Suffolk GP+ is for people who urgently need a doctor’s appointment or are unable to see their GP during normal GP hours.
Appointments can be made via Reception during our usual opening hours. Please note patients cannot refer themselves to this service.
The service is staffed by local Suffolk GPs and Nurse Practitioners in Ipswich, Felixstowe, Stowmarket, Leiston and Wickham Market and is an NHS service delivered by the Suffolk GP Federation.
You will be given a booked appointment and will be seen by a suitable local GP or nurse who will have access to your medical records (once consent is given).

We heard what you said about contacting the doctor.... and decided we had to change. Many of you told us you found it difficult to get an appointment or speak with your doctor, so we're introducing a new system in the practice.
If you miss the call from your doctor, you will need to telephone the surgery and advise us, the doctor will then return your call. The telephone numbers the doctors use can only call out and can not recieve calls or text messages. Nurse appointments remain the same and specialist appointment slots will still be available for conditions such as diabetes checks.
Additional GP appointments on weekday evenings, weekends and bank holidays

Visits are made to those too ill or infirm to get to the surgery, but it takes four or five times as long to see you at home. So please help us by keeping requests for home visits to a minimum.
When you call the surgery give some simple details of illness to the receptionist. The doctor will then call you back before deciding whether a visit is necessary.
Please ensure we have a the correct contact telephone number for you.
If you are off work for up to seven days you do not require a medical certificate from the doctor. You may need to fill in a self-certificate which is available from your employer.
If your absence from work is greater than seven days, please see your doctor who can provide a medical certificate where appropriate.
